Hello I’m Catherine, and I am excited to be sharing my tiny corner of the web with you.

At sixty five I tossed aside the conventional blanket of retirement for a life that is as unpredictable as it is enriching. My passion isn’t just to live but to thrive, and that means fostering a spirit of health, wellness and authenticity that resonates with many of us over 60.

I was widowed in my early sixties and during covid I decided to go to Mexico and become a digital nomad.

Meet Catherine: Digital Nomad at Seventy

I’m Catherine, and at seventy years young, I’ve tossed aside the conventional retirement lifestyle for a life on the move. Being a digital nomad isn’t just for the twenty-somethings; it’s a thrilling chapter for me too. Age is but a number, and it certainly doesn’t dictate how I live my life. My passion for travel and an unwavering commitment to health and wellness are the fuels that drive my nomadic journey.

You could say I’m a testament to staying fit and healthy regardless of where I am in the world. South America is my current home base, where I’m embracing a five-year odyssey that challenges me to stay physically and mentally active every day. From the Andes to the Amazon, my experiences are as diverse as the landscapes I traverse.

Maintaining a vibrant lifestyle doesn’t happen by chance. It’s about adapting and finding balance. Nutrition, exercise, and mindfulness are my travel companions, as essential as my passport. Whether I’m sampling local superfoods, joining a dance class in a bustling city square, or meditating at sunrise in the mountains, my quest for wellness never takes a vacation.

Does that mean I am super fit and go to the gym everyday. The answer to both of those questions is no. I eat correctly 95 percent plus of the time. I never go to the gym, but I do exercise daily, I either swim or walk. Being fit doesn’t mean you have to pay to get fit. Start with a ten minute walk a day and increase the time, over time.

Joining the dots between living well and exploring freely has turned my golden years into the Vibrant Years. I’ve learned that the key to a happy and healthy life is to never stop exploring, not just the world around you, but also the potential within. And I’m here to share that potential with you.

My Niche: Fostering Health and Wellness after 60

I chose health and wellness for the over 60’s as my passion project for a reason. When I turned 60, I noticed an immense gap in tailored fitness and wellness guidance for our age group. Mainstream advice wasn’t always applicable to us, and I felt there had to be more nuanced, realistic approaches to aging vigorously.

With that realization, I became a devotee of health and wellness suited specifically for those of us in our later years. On ‘The Vibrant Years’, I share not just general tips, but tested advice and resources that resonate with our unique needs and aspirations.

Wellness encompasses so much more than just physical health. It’s also about mental agility, emotional balance, and a sense of joy. Eating right, staying active, and fostering a positive mindset have paved the way for me to embrace and thoroughly enjoy this chapter of my life.

In each article and piece of advice I share, I draw from my own experiences, professional studies, and the wisdom of experts I’ve encountered on my journey. It’s about creating a platform where the over 60’s can find actionable strategies for staying lively, engaged, and healthy.

Join My Journey: Insights and Hobbies

As I traverse the diverse landscapes of South America, I’m constantly discovering new joys in both work and play. I take pride in striking a balance, one that allows me to savor the freedom my lifestyle affords without neglecting the digital commitments that fund my adventures.

Each day is a unique blend of hobbies that keep me energized. From early morning yoga to journaling under the stars, my routines are shaped by the places I visit and the people I meet. And, of course, I’m always on the lookout for the next health trend or wellness practice that can benefit myself and my community at The Vibrant Years.

I’m not just about keeping these experiences to myself; I want to share them with you. Your engagement, your stories, and your own quest for health and happiness are what fuel my passion. So, I cordially invite you to join me on this journey. Whether through the pages of this blog or the shared experiences we may have in person one day, let’s forge a path to vibrant health and wellness together.
